Underwater ruins of Yonaguni in Okinawa Japan In 1996, an enormous underwater structure was found in the offshore of Yonaguni. It could have been made by the unknown giants race who ruled the world before us.
Yonaguni Monument. Pyramid? Lost City? Lost Civilization? Natural? Work of Aliens? The Island of Yonaguni is full of mystery. Lets go underwater to freedivie the Yonaguni Monument. I first heard about the Yonaguni monument about 6 months back, it fascinated me, and i dreamed to be able to freedive it one day. It's on one of the most remote islands in Japan. There is only a small town, there is almost no people in the street, and only a few shops selling basic items.. From where I am based in Taiwan, its very difficult to get to yonaguni, without going going in a big circle of connecting flights and boat trips. However, by chance, I heard of a one off charter flight being offered, which had some seats open for sale - however I already had other plans for a diving trip to Green Island.... but after some thought, I cancelled my Green Island trip, and reserved a seat on the charter flight. I had to bear all the cancellation costs for my Green Island trip, so it wasn't an easy choice - but this charter flight was an almost once in a life time opportunity so I took it. Despite having just started at a new company, I managed to get some days off work.. Before and during the trip I had cold and fever, which made diving almost impossible - however I managed to do it. To make matters worse, the dive company only gave us 40 mins time at the dive site, which means I had to rush to see the whole monument - no time for breathing-up or relaxing... long swims followed by diving immediately. Due to the short time at the dive site, the following day we paid a charter boat to give us 1 hour on the dive site. To my horror, right after jumping into the water, my GoPro dive housing flooded with water, and the camera was dead within 30 seconds of my getting in the water... the result is I have no videos from my 2nd dive. This video is dedicated to all my subscribes on youtube for being so supportive over the past year - without all the positive feedback I have gotten from my subscribes I might not have made the effort to go to Yonaguni and film this dive. Whether the Yonaguni monument was made by aliens, a lost civilization or it is a natural phenomenon, I just don't know. Nobody knows. Watch the video and decide for yourselves. This video was also not cheap to produce - It costed me somewhere in between $2000-$3000 US dollars to make - so your support by liking my videos and subscribing is much appreciated. We have covered several anomalies of recent, which some fields of study, would rather be kept silent. Often attempting to dismiss such objects as a fraud, or if structural, as a natural formation. And our next topic is no exception, just off the coast of Yonaguni amongst the Ryukyu Islands of japan, is a place once passionately argued as a natural formation by countless academic scholars. Now all but surrendered to the truth. And once you are introduced to the sheer enormity of this city, you will begin to realise why some were so keen for the world to remain ignorant of this place. For once one becomes aware of the ancient pyramids, possibly many hundreds of thousands of years old, even dwarfing that of great pyramids which rest within the giza plateau, you begin to wonder why more is not heard regarding this place. Only discovered as recently as 1986, a diver near the island of Jima, off the southern tip of Japan, came across some very strange structures about 25 metres below sea level. They appeared to him to be stepped structures with terraces and ramps, and thankfully he reported his find to local geologists. One of the largest pyramid structures found here is over 600 feet wide and 900 feet tall, comparatively, the tallest of Egypt’s being a mere 450 feet, making these submerged and supressed pyramids, almost twice as large. They all appear to be made with five separate levels of stone blocks, and what appears to be a road surrounding the structures. Due to the public debunking efforts experienced, the majority of the world’s population have subsequently overlooked this place, this, regardless of the exploratory dives made upon the buildings... Dives resulting in the discovery of Tool marks and carvings made upon the stone, archeologically indicating that they were indeed constructed rather than being natural stone structures. The evidence has clearly been compelling, meaning honest professionals, including Teruaki Ishii, professor of geology at Tokyo University, have determined that the cities submergence occurred at the end of the last ice age – which was around ten thousand years ago, meaning these ruins predate this event by some considerable time. If this is accepted to be the case however, billions of history books would have to be reprinted, taking into account an advanced Eastern culture, among many others. During extensive research projects, several intriguing artefacts have been retrieved from around the city. Strange stones which display as yet, unknown petroglyphs, along with several strange stone tools. Additionally, an enormous stone monolith, adorned with what many have suspected was a human face, has been discovered at the foot of the largest pyramid. Was this what the original sphinx looked like upon earth? After mounting evidence in favour of the enormous formations being an extremely ancient pyramid complex, it seems academia eventually buckled to the data. National geographic running a story confirming that the city does indeed exist, and conveniently presenting an explanation complete with a scenario involving a candidate civilization. One must wonder, why was this quote “likely proposition” now put forward? Why was this so preposterous before being forced to concede in regard to the ancient cities artificial origins. Stating quote, “some experts believe that the structures could be all that's left of Mu, a fabled Pacific civilization rumoured to have vanished beneath the waves.” Although they forget to mention that this specific land mass has remained at the same level since before the last ice age. Just who were these ancient people? What amazing secrets are they still awaiting to tell us,,, We will, of course, keep you posted. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/09/070919-sunken-city_2.html
An ancient, lost underwater city mysteriously lies off the coast of Japan. Just whom built an underwater city off the coast of Japan? The nation state of Japan is an archipelago composed of almost 7000 islands, forming a crescent shaped string pointing towards Taiwan. Yonaguni Island represents the tip of the island chain, and this southernmost boundary marker was it's primary claim to fame, up until 1986. That's when Kihachiro Aratake, a local scuba diver offering Swim-With-The-Sharks tours, accidentally discovered the sunken ruins of one of humanity's oldest structures, a 100 foot tall pyramid shaped complex, quite a bit larger than a football stadium, just 20 feet below the ocean's surface, off the southernmost tip of this southernmost island. The monument appears to be carved out of natural rock formations, facing south, and features several megalithic square blocks arranged in perfect parallel format ions, with post holes and drill marks, arranged in archways, corridors, stairs, terraces, a triangular pool with drainage channels, and several unusual carvings that can be easily interpreted as a turtle, and a dragon's head beside a human face. It could date as far back as the last ice age 10,000 years ago, when water levels were much lower than they are today. Who would have built such a structure or city that far back into the past?... Yonaguni Pyramids In the mid 80s, Divers found underwater rock terraces and pyramids off the coast of Yonaguni Jima. Yonaguni Jima is an island that lies near the southern tip of Japan's Ryukyu archipelago, About 75 miles off the eastern coast of Taiwan. At first scientists believed they might be natural formations, but There are quarry marks and some writing on the stones and animal statues that have also been found underwater. Now some experts believe that The structures Could be what is left of the mythical city of Mu, a fabled Pacific civilization rumored to have vanished beneath the waves. Masaki Kimura, a marine geologist from the University of Japan, Has been studying the underwater pyramids for over 15 years. The underwater structures include castle ruins, a triumphal arch, five temples and at least one large stadium, all of which are Connected by roads and water channels and are partly shielded by what could be huge retaining walls. Kimura believes the ruins date back to at least 5,000 years, based on the dates of stalactites found inside underwater caves that he says sank with the city. The theory is that the ancient underwater city Might have been sunk by an earthquake or tsunami around 2,000 years ago. Yonaguni invites tourists and researchers to dive freely around the site. 2. Sunken City of Cuba In 2001, A company called Advanced Digital Communications (ADC) was working with Fidel Castro's government to explore Cuban waters looking for sunken Spanish ships loaded with treasure. Their Sonar equipment picked up a series of geometrical structures lying on the bottom of the ocean. Here's a computer generated image of the pyramids and other structures found underwater. The structures and design made it look like there was A gigantic underwater city at the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle. The media went crazy claiming that Atlantis had been discovered in Cuba. There are local legends of the Maya and native Yucatecos that tell of an Island inhabited by their ancestors that vanished beneath the waves. If it's true the structures were made by an ancient civilization, they would have been the Most technologically advanced structures on the planet at that time. Scientists estimate that they would have been built about 50,000 years ago which doesn't seem very likely. The numerous structures and cities that have been discovered underwater around the world Lie less than 120 meters (or 395 feet) below sea level, which comes as no surprise since the sea level never fell below this mark during the time Homo sapiens walked the earth. This Cuban city, if we can call it that, is the Only exception since It is submerged over 700 meters (2300 feet) underwater. If the large structures are actually pyramids, 2 of them are Even larger than the pyramids of Giza and Cheops in Egypt. As of yet there is no plausible explanation for the existence of this city and ADC is still trying to investigate the site. 3. Lake Titicaca Lake Titicaca is Located in the Andes between Bolivia and Peru. It is the largest freshwater lake in South America and was the cradle of Peru's ancient civilizations, including the Inca. Their presence can be seen on Lake Titicaca by the ruins they left behind, including A mysterious underwater temple thought to be between 1,000 and 1,500 years old. In the Incan creation myth, The god Con Tiqui Viracocha emerged from Lake Titicaca. After commanding the sun, moon, and the stars to rise, Viracocha created more human beings from stone. After bringing them to life, Viracocha Commanded them to go and populate the world. The Incas therefore believed that Lake Titicaca was their place of origin, and that upon death, Their spirits would return to this lake. Archeologists located a huge temple in 2000 after following a submerged road (and I'm sure following advice from locals). After 18 days of diving below the clear waters of Titicaca, scientists said they had Discovered a 660-foot long, 160-foot wide temple, a terrace for crops, and a 2,600-foot containing wall along with gold and statues. It is said the lost city was Covered with sediment during a great flood of biblical proportions and local people had passed down the stories of the underwater temple and flood from generation to generation.

A Japan-based construction company has unveiled its design for an entire underwater city that can accommodate up to 5,000 residents. The human population is constantly growing, and it may be time to look into other places to live, including underwater. A Japan-based construction company has unveiled its design for a subaquatic city that can accommodate up to 5,000 residents. The proposed city is being called the "Ocean Spiral." Three sections will make up the structure. A floating sphere or pod that has a diameter of nearly 1,650 feet will rest just beneath the surface of the ocean. The pod will contain both residences and businesses, with a spiral path connecting the sphere to the seabed. This will allow scientists to utilize energy resources from the ocean floor. For example, carbon dioxide will turn into methane with help from microorganisms. Power generators that are installed around the sea dome will make use of seawater temperature fluctuations to create even more energy, as part of an action known as thermal energy conversion. Hydraulic pressure helps produce desalinated water, which will in turn be jetted into the sphere. Staffers with the construction company believe the technology needed to make such a city exist will be available within the next 15 years.
Japanese Atlantis (2004): Exploring the underwater remains of a mysterious Japanese palace For downloads and more information visit http://journeyman.tv/15208/short-films/japanese-atlantis.html Come dive with us to the "Sea God's Palace," one of the world's greatest mysteries. Experts believe it may be the remnants of a vast underwater city, a Japanese Atlantis. We explore this giant pyramid beneath the waves, with drainage ditches, rooms carved in rocks, massive stone steps and even perhaps a once bustling boulevard. But were these strange shapes carved by human hands or the waves? Masaaki Kimura, the leading expert on the underwater monument, calls it the oldest building on earth. "We have been able to collect relics, stone tools...direct evidence that humans existed," he says. There are indeed several similar monuments on land, ancient castles that formed the heart of the Okinawan empire. The region's traditional graves were also often built beside the sea. Perhaps the monument was the victim of rising sea levels as the ice age ended ABC Australia - Ref. 2299 Journeyman Pictures is your independent source for the world's most powerful films, exploring the burning issues of today.
