With the Symmetry line, OtterBox has mastered the art of the slim, tough, protective case. With a highly scratch resistant matte polycarbonate back, grippy sides and excellent protective lip, the Symmetry Colors cases will provide excellent, long lasting protection for your iPhone SE. Interestingly, OtterBox chose to redesign the Symmetry cases for the iPhone SE, rather than just using the old Symmetry design for the 5 and 5s. The newly redesigned Symmetry cases have much more grip, due to increased rubber on the sides of the case, and they sport a more rounded, modern design. Pros: * Highly scratch resistant matte polycarbonate back. * Nicely grippy sides, but still slips easily into pockets and bags. * Certified to meet OtterBox’s Drop+ Protection standards * Generous port openings * High protective lip * Excellent feel in the hand * One year warranty Cons: * Power button is a little stiff * Relatively tight fit: takes a bit of effort to get on and off your iPhone SE. Conclusion: The Symmetry series is an excellent, protective choice for your iPhone SE. These cases will wear well and do a great job protecting your iPhone. With an MSRP of $39.99, the Symmetry cases come in 5 solid colors (the red case reviewed here is the Rosso Corsa; the Symmetry is also available in black, white, blue and pink) and are available directly from OtterBox as well as from other retailers. Many thanks to OtterBox for sending me out this case to review. http://www.otterbox.com/en-us/iphone-se-symmetry-series http://amzn.to/1SJ3VKp (affiliate) For a more detailed review, please feel free to check out the review on my Tech-Reviewer.com review blog: http://tech-reviewer.com/2016/05/02/otterbox-new-symmetry-iphone-se-excellent-protective-choice/ Thanks for watching!

If you have a new iPhone SE and are looking for a nice protective case that also shows off your iPhone’s good looks, check out the new Symmetry Clear. With grippy rubber sides and a crystal clear polycarbonate back, this case does a fantastic job showcasing your iPhone while protecting it from drops and scratches. Unlike the many iPhone 5 and 5s cases that have been rebranded as iPhone SE cases, the new Symmetry Clear was developed specifically for the iPhone SE, and this is clearly evident in its modern design esthetic. The corners are rounded, rather than boxy and its whole look is quite reminiscent of that of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Pros: * Meets the requirements of OtterBox’s Drop+ Protection certification: http://www.otterbox.com/en-us/cdp-tests.html * The combination of rubber sides and a smooth polycarbonate back give this case a nice amount of grip and a great feel in the hand. * Works perfectly with OtterBox’s Alpha Glass screen protector (not included). * Crystal clear polycarbonate back shows off the beauty of your iPhone SE. * Generous port openings should allow you to use many third party headphones and lightning cables, * High protective lip provides good protection for your iPhone’s vulnerable screen. * Backed by OtterBox’s one year warranty. Cons: * The glossy polycarbonate back is scratch resistant, but most definitely not scratch proof. If scratches really bother you, you might want to look at the OtterBox Symmetry Colors cases, which have a much more scratch resistant matte polycarbonate back. Conclusion: Overall, I think that this is an outstanding case for the iPhone SE which combines protection with beauty. It is available directly from OtterBox for $39.95 as well as from other retailers, and comes in two colors: Black Crystal and Grey Crystal. Quick look and un boxing of the clear back Symmetry case from Otterbox
Is this case worth it? As one of the first 3rd Party cases for the iPhone 6, it will do but you may get annoyed with it. Check out other cases: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYmnlI-tycmGqaiTqL_Gxikcew2GpvWfv Click here for the full review: http://www.mobilereviews-eh.ca/otterbox-symmetry-review-iphone-6/ Our video for our Otterbox Symmetry Review for the iPhone 6. It’s a decent case and it’ll tide you over until you can get something better because lets face it, a slim case that’s twice the thickness of your awesome iPhone 6 isn’t really that slim. Based on our time with the case, we gave it a score of 3.9 Eh’s out of 5. It’s a case that fits the iPhone 6 well, is fairly affordable but will make you feel scared to use your iPhone 6 with one hand. For our case reviews, we try to spend a reasonable amount of time with each case before rating them. In our possession, we’ve got three of Otterbox iPhone 6 cases (the Defender, Symmetry and Commuter) and out of these three cases, we have to give our hat tip to the Otterbox Symmetry though I have been very underwhelmed by this batch of Otterbox cases. I’ll elaborate on that in a bit. The Symmetry feels like a solid case, fits the iPhone 6 fairly, especially when compared to the equivalently priced Otterbox Commuter. However, I struggled a bit with the case when using it with one hand. I’ll elaborate on that in a bit. The back of the case is very slick so if you’re working on sloping smooth surfaces, your iPhone 6 is not going to stay in place. Design It’s sold as a slim case but in reality, is it really that slim? It will double the thickness of your iPhone 6. From our experience cases that are double the thickness of the device usually provide a lot more protection than the Otterbox Symmetry. Some of the slime cases that we’ve reviewed the for the iPhone 5/5S only added 25% extra thickness so why can’t the Symmetry do the same thing? This added size, in addition to the fact that the back of the case is quite slick, makes the iPhone 6 a lot more difficult to use in one hand. This is frustrating to me because I’m a big fan of using my phone with one hand since it allows to do other things with the other hand. The added thickness of the case and slick back makes the iPhone 6 feel very uncomfortable when I’m using it with one hand. There’s a few more things that annoy me about the case and I’ve captured them on the website version of the Otterbox Symmetry review so that I can keep the length of this video reasonable. Protection Now according to Otterbox, the Symmetry is one of the slimmest, most protective iPhone 6 cases in its class but like most Otterbox cases, its not rated to any Mil-Spec so take it that statement with a grain of salt. That annoys me a bit but not as much as the screen protection for this case. In terms of screen protection, you could install a screen protector on your iPhone 6 with the Symmetry. On this iPhone 6, I’ve got a Otterbox Screen protector on this iPhone 6 and over time the Symmetry is going to peel off your screen protector because the edges of case butt up against the edges screen protector. On top of that, the Otterbox screen protector isn’t really cut properly as it doesn’t take into account the rounded edges of the iPhone 6. This annoys because, well firstly, Otterbox is the #1 selling case for smartphone in the US and Canada. So why doesn’t most of their cases fit well? The screen protector isn’t properly cut? Did they measure the dimensions of the iPhone 6 with their thumbs? Then wouldn’t you check to see if the cases you make fit the screen protectors that you produce? I’ll be honest with you, I work pretty hard for my case so when I’m dropping 50 bucks on a case that isn’t rated to any Mil Spec, I’m expecting something decent. For the most part, what I see here can be accomplished with a 10 dollar case from a street vendor. Functionality In terms of functionality, the Otterbox Symmetry doesn’t have any negative effects on the usage of your iPhone. The cutouts for the headphone jack and lightning port are large enough that you can easily use non-Apple accessories with the iPhone 6 installed inside the Symmetry.
