Take a walk down the beautiful Kanarraville Falls Slot canyon near Kanarraville, UT. Descend waterfalls and walk down a stream and look all around at the beautiful red rock walls.
In this episode, we hike the Kanarraville falls in Zion National Park. There's a slot canyon that is similar to the narrows and that is a great alternative if the narrows are closed. Several waterfalls with ladder access inside the canyon provide lots of excitement for hikers of all experience levels. The best thing about this hike is the location. Located only 5 minutes from Red Ledge RV Resort in beautiful Kanarraville Utah. If you like this video, please be sure to SUBSCRIBE, COMMENT, LIKE, and SHARE. Ranked one of the most popular trails in Ogden, the Waterfall Canyon trail begins at the top of 29th St. The trail head is called the 29th street trail head and is the access point to a series of marked trails including the Bonneville Shoreline trail. From the parking lot, the Waterfall Canyon trail heads east and begins to climb its way into the foothills. A portion of this trail leads through private property. In the past this section has been closed by the landowner because of vandalism and trash left by the hikers. Please when making your way through the private section stay on the trail, don’t leave any trash, and respect the landowner's property. You must cross this private property to access the canyon, so do your part in protecting this access. As you make your way through the private section the trail begins to climb into the canyon. The lower portion of the trail is a wide path that eventually shrinks down to a single track as you make your way up the canyon. Once in the canyon, the trail follows the creek to the waterfall. There are a few rocky sections, and on our visit the trail was wet due to runoff. A good pair of hiking shoes or boots is recommended for this hike. As you approach the waterfall the base of the fall is steep and covered in loose, slippery rock and requires some effort the closer you get. Although this trail is considered a moderate hike with a consistent elevation gain all the way to the falls, it’s well worth the effort. Hikers will enjoy the views of the valley, the creek, and the 200 foot waterfall. Hidden Falls is a picturesque waterfall located up Big Cottonwood Canyon. The parking lot for the trail head is located 4.4 miles up the canyon just off the "S-Curve". The hike to Hidden Falls is approximately 0.3 miles with very little elevation gain making this hike kid friendly. Plus with the added bonus of the falls the kids will not be disappointed. Hidden Falls is also a quick getaway close to the Salt Lake Valley. If you're in need of a relaxing location to clear the mind, and to get a break from all the hustle and bustle of city life, try this hike. We hiked Stewart falls as a family, but we weren't able to finish the whole hike. We had started too late in the evening to make it back to the ski lift in time before they closed for the day. We hiked as far as we felt we could with enough time to hike back. We hiked Stewart Falls before and it was a fun hike for the kids. We carried my son in a backpack and my little girl was able to hike the whole way without any problems. The waterfall has a scenic view over the hills. This is a great hike for the family especially when the trees are beginning to change color. We hiked this around the middle of October and most of the leaves have already fallen. This would have been better to hike in September. On the trip, I brought my GoPro Hero 4 Silver connected to my iPhone 6+; my Sony a7s with a 50mm and 24-105mm; and I was able to try out my new drone DJI Phantom 3 Professional. And for the record, you cannot fly drones at Sundance—I found that out the hard way. I'm still trying to get used to the new gear. I had traded in my Canon cameras to the Sony for more video features. Careful, the rocks may be slippery. You have to walk through water but the trail is not really flip flop friendly! Minor climbing required.
An amazing short slot canyon, just a half-day hike from the Hole in the rock Road in Utah's Escalante.
